I imagine the candles would be a typical candle size which is around 10cm height which I know from the first hand research that I gathered last week. When candles come as a collection they are usually small to medium scale as well so I decided to stick to this. When looking at the current Oliver Bonas candles in their store I noticed the sizes of the candles weren't crazy big or small either, just in between.
Sizes:
- Candle packaging top and bottom: 10cm x 10cm
- Candle packaging sides: 12.5cm height x 10cm width
- Label: 6cm height x 15cm width
I decided to make the labels long so that they can be wrapped around the candle vessel, I thought this was more interesting that a typical square or circle label and it also allows room for more imagery and patterns to go around the candle.
Additionally, I have also decided on the colours that each of the 4 candles will use within their designs using the colour palette that Oliver Bonas has provided.

| Mayfly |
Each of the 4 candle designs will stick to 3 main colours. The colours chosen relate to the insect that the candle is based on, this takes into consideration the insects features such as their wings, wing reflections, antenna's and environments. For example, the monarch butterfly uses a warm red and tan colour which is inspired by the main colours in it's wings, whereas the pink takes its references from the specific flowers that they gather their pollen from. The colours in the mayfly's colour palette focus highly on the reflective colours that can be seen in their wings which I found really beautiful.
Some of the same colours are used more than once so that the designs look like they are part of the same range despite their overall different designs.
