Overall, I felt that this brief went well but it was quite tedious at times. I feel that the brief could have been a lot shorter as things were put on hold after finalising the logo, which I then had to go back to after a few months whilst I was also working on other projects.
I found the process of designing the logo very tedious at times as lot of tiny changes were regularly being made. However, when actually finalising the logo we agreed that the design was definitely done and didn’t need further development as tweaking a logo can go on forever. This made me realise that in the future I definitely need to set actual dates for when a design will be done by for the client with further changes after this date at an additional cost, instead of saying around 3 weeks for the duration.
Whilst designing the logo, the client asked me to also design the Season Yorkshire business cards. However, the logo was the main priority so my task was changed back to just designing and finishing the logo for the deadline, at the time the client mentioned that the business card designs can be put on hold and finished later on in the year. The business card designs were finished in the new year and I also created website designs for Season Yorkshire as they are wanting an update and additional social media designs. Even though most of my time was spent creating the logo and business cards, I’d say I equally enjoyed creating designs for the website and socials, maybe because I had more freedom and the process wasn’t as tedious.
The logo that I designed for Season Yorkshire is now being used in the Season Yorkshire website and products which is great to see in actual context. The end logo is successful as it works in a range of different outputs and scales on the different products that they provide.
