Forever Friends is a volunteer-run charity dedicated to the rescue and rehoming of animals in need. The e re-brand of Forever Friends afforded the charity the added opportunity to look at fresh ways to help communicate their mission of educating and raising awareness of responsible pet ownership, and the sad realities of puppy farms and backyard breeding.
The re-brand for Forever Friends is successful as the vibrant colour palette communicates a positive message about rescuing animals in need. The friendly aesthetic also invites more people to be a part of the volunteer-run charity. The particular block type which is used is also eye-catching, the curved edges of the letters give it a cutest feel which relates to animals.
PAWS is a non profit organisation that focus on the welfare and rescue of abandoned street animals, they wanted to create a playful and cute brand identity using vibrant colours which I also want to achieve within the branding for the panda project.
The cute aesthetic for PAWS takes its inspiration from pets; pet lovers find animals cute. The symbols used throughout the branding relate to the concept of the non profit organisation, volunteering and animal protection. I also think the logo communicates a cute aesthetic and clearly communicates that the company focuses on animal welfare, the heavy use of yellow throughout the branding is also striking and positive.
The Cool Kids Never Die project by Pems Lou focuses on the animals in the world today that are most endangered and at risk of going extinct. I instantly fell in love with these branding and designs for this project because of the beautiful yet funky and bold illustrations of the animals, this shows that this project successfully catches the eye and therefore raises awareness for endangered animals.
Me and Emma definitely want to achieve a vibrant and detailed aesthetic similar to this within the designs and prints that we create. The use of detailed illustration would be something to incorporate within the branding and prints and spend time perfecting, the use of bright colours helps to make these more striking.
The outcomes for this project involve merchandise which include tote bags, double sided printed t-shirts, badges, stickers and phone cases. I would definitely buy these myself as the designs are so funky and vibrant which is very up my street.
