Logo Development

Today I started to developed the logo designs for Nikita. The logo designs consider the deigns within the moodboards that Nikita sent as well as what she said at our initial conversation.

The logo needs to be minimal and sleek at the same time as this reflects Nikitas design practice, I was unsure whether to use a sans serif typeface as it is more minimal, however I think a serif font might look more sleek and feminine which Nikita also likes, so I decided to play around with both. The sans serif fonts that I used were Quesha, Quicksand and Big John Pro, the serif font that I used was Baskerville.

First logo developments

Below shows my 3 favourite logo designs from the initial developments, I thought the designs that use the circle were most interesting it allows the NSJ to be used as the main focus in the middle with the additional text curved around the circle which looks more engaging. The other design that I also liked was the one that uses Baskerville with 'Nikita Sarah Johnson' on top and across the 'NSJ'

The colour palette that Nikita wants me to use is black and white with an additional baby pink/blush pink shade, I decided to use Pantone Rose Quartz and Pantone 4032 for this shade which have a soft and sleek aesthetic to them:

Further developed logo designs on business card dimensions using colour:

I have messaged Nikita to ask whether she is free next week to meet up so I can show her some of the logo designs, this will allow me to develop them further so we can decide on a final one which will then allow me to work on the business cards in more detail.
