Concept Ideas

I have now started to come up with ideas for the concept of this brief and what I want to communicate within the designs I create (my packaging concept will need to support 4 designs that work together as a collective). I started by making a mind map of ideas and words which are relevant to the brief and mentioned within the Oliver Bonas project pack.

'Looking at what Mother Earth has to offer, we look to colours of our ground, plants, animal friends to be part of the circle'- Oliver Bonas brief. When reading the brief and project pack this line stood out to me the most, particularly 'animal friends'/

I believe that living creates are a big part of nature and extremely important in each season- the brief focuses on nature and surroundings so this is relevant. Within my designs I have decided to have a main focus on insects which appear in Spring and Summer as the candle designs are for the SS20 Tierra range. I decided not to focus on animals as previous Oliver Bonas candles focus on animal designs and patterns so I want to do something different, I also believe that insects are under appreciated compared to animals even though they are such an important part of nature; the world wouldn't function without them.
