This afternoon I have started to develop designs for the back of the packaging box, when gathering first hand and online research on candles I noticed that the back doesn't usually contain much information or is sometimes left blank. For the back designs I wanted to use the insect illustrations so that the 4 sides have a consistent theme running through them and felt that the back definitely needed some information as it'd look odd if it was left too plain as the front and sides are quite busy and illustrative.
Below shows some initial developments for the back of the dragonfly box. Initially I thought it may have been interesting to include the information about the recycled paper that the boxes use on the back, however I decided to display that information separately on the cards that come inside each box.

The back was developed through combing the illustrations with text, the information included is the main information that is always displayed on typical packaging as it is required; the ingredients. I decided not to over complicate the back as I want the overall box design to be sleek and eye-catching and the front and sides are the include the main details and illustrative designs, the consumer doesn't pay much attention to the back.
The illustrations on the sides of the box were extended onto the back in order to create consistency, I felt that this detail was a nice little touch.
