The only finishing touches that I needed to add were dotted lines onto the 2 posters to show where to cut the posters out, this provides the user with a template so that they can cut them out in a straight line using scissors. My initial idea was to perforate the posters which I will still test out on one of the copies, however this has a chance of going wrong as the posters are bound together with all of the other pages, so providing an alternative way of cutting out the posters was important.
Dotted lines on the posters:
I decided to order the booklet using the website digitalprinting.com which was recommended to me by one of my peers, this website was really useful as they provide a wide range of paper stocks, booklet styles and GSMs to choose from. This also means that I can order several copies.
Below shows the sizes, paper types, paper weights and laminations that I chose. I decided to go with gloss for the cover as fashion magazines are often glossy, a glossy effect is also very Bratz appropriate (glamorous and feminine). The inner pages use silk, similar to typical magazines.
The cover is 250gsm and the inner pages are 150gsm, these were the recommended sizes so I decided to stick to them, the cover also needs to show high importance so a thicker gsm was appropriate.
The total of the booklet was £24 including postage for 4 copies.
