Magazines like this have been about since I was younger and used to play with Bratz dolls, so it was interesting to see how they've changed in terms of the newer dolls/cartoons/articles that are in them. I felt like these magazines haven't changed much at all, which to me now have a comforting nostalgic aesthetic.
Typically the freebies that are included are stationary, sweets, stickers, kids makeup etc. The Bratz lookbook will come packaged in a similar way with freebies inside, freebies relevant to Bratz would be makeup and stickers, stickers were an initial idea to include at the back of the lookbook but instead they'll come within the magazine packaging as it's more relevant.
My plan is to buy the freebie items myself that I think are relevant to Bratz and then replace the designs on them with designs that I have created, using stickers.
I also went into some crafts shops to look at stationary or arts and crafts bits which could be relevant for the lookbook that I could put my designs onto:
This weekend I will go into town and start buying the freebies that I want to include with the Bratz lookbook. I will keep the freebies as a set of stickers and then 2 or 3 additional items depending on what they are, shops that I think will be relevant are Claire's, The Works and possibly even the market as there's all sorts in there.
