I didn't know what to expect from the event, but my plan was to talk to as many people/companies that grabbed my attention so I went in with an open mind. The event was more of a fair which was one big room full of different company/brand stalls, I introduced myself to as many companies that I felt were relevant to my design career (around 5) and mentioned what I was interested in and looking for as well as hearing more about what they do.
The companies that I spoke to were TalkTalk, Code, Apadmi, Boohoo, Adidas and Chep. Most of them mentioned that they would be looking for designers in upcoming months and that I should keep an eye out and visit their sites.
The brand that was most useful to speak to was Code, the woman I spoke to mentioned that my design skills would be transferrable in a lot of the roles that they provide but also mentioned that they are looking for UX, website developers and digital product designers which is appropriate to my design practice. She also mentioned that it doesn't matter if I don't tick every single criteria box because I would learn a lot at Code (if I was successful in an application).

Whilst visiting Manchester, we thought it'd be good to take a visit to the Whitworth gallery. I love visiting galleries in general as I find them relaxing to look around as well as keeping me inspired and encouraging me to work in new and different ways. The Whitworth is a great gallery to visit when starting a project as there is a good variation of things to use as inspiration, I'm also more interested in modern art which it includes a lot of.
Below shows photographs that I took of my top 10 favourite pieces of art that I saw whilst exploring the Whitworth art gallery today:
