Sticker Initial Ideas and Design Development

I have now started to develop designs for the round stickers that would go on the physical vinyl, this is not a requirement for the Secret 7 submission but I am choosing to do it as an extension to the brief for my submission as I'd enjoy it and it would push the overall project further.

Initial ideas for the sticker designs:

• Use just the pattern from the background on the vinyl cover- consistency and the minimalism creates contrast with the busy digital collages on the vinyl cover
• Pattern background combined with block colour circle- pick out colours from the collages
• The collage on the vinyl cover- colourised, enlarged or repeated pattern?
• Borders using the pattern background combined with the collage in a circle shape or solid colour
• Curve typography around the circle- the text can be song lyrics relating to each cover/stage of the track that the design communicates

Furthermore, I also experimented with the idea of using just type with the psychedelic pattern background, type isn't used anywhere on the vinyl cover designs so this would create an interesting contrast. The 4 fonts that I tried were Blenny, HWT Arabesque, HWT Gothic Round and Juniper.

The type takes its references from song lyrics relating to the stage in the song that each of the 3 designs focuses on.

Stage 3: Wake with the sunrise, Sleep in it's alright
