Creative Conference Research

For this brief me and Jake have decided to pair up together which was the recommended group size by Amber. Me and Jake will combine both our styles which are quite different which will create an interesting contrast, if our styles were really similar the designs could end up looking boring and lack creativity, we both have different ways of thinking as well so together we will be able to come up with a lot of different ideas.

Ideas for our theme and concept focus on the idea of the future of visual media and what is to come; the excitement of the future: we felt that a positive and vibrant aesthetic would be most relevant towards this theme.

We started with researching into creative conferences which we found intriguing and vibrant, the conferences that I researched into are Conference Awwwards, Creative Cultivate and Pictoplasm.

Awwwards is a collection of three Design Thinkers Conferences, held in Amsterdam, Toronto, and Tokyo, this three-of-a-kind conference caters to designers, but also brings in speakers, developers, and dreamers alike would love. The motion graphics and vibrant, young colour palette stood out to me most, I instantly loved the positive aesthetic straight from the website launch page.

Create and Cultivate is the ultimate conference for women who want to take their creative career to the next level. This conference brings in women in leadership roles in the digital and creative industry from across the country for one full day of panelists and programming. The overall feminine and soft aesthetic is clear to see throughout the branding through the use of colour, detailing and classy aesthetic. I really enjoyed the use of detailing and illustration combined with the choice of type.

Pictoplasma Berlin Festival invites international character pioneers, creators, artists, newcomers and enthusiasts for a special 5 day celebration of contemporary character design and art. Me and Jake thought the idea of a character throughout our branding could be really interesting as it's different and unique and a lot more inviting.
