I love the Tate in London so I was really excited to see the one in Liverpool. I think it's important to get out of Leeds and do things like this- as Leeds is more of a comfort zone now. I've realised from the past 3 years at uni that I like being out of my comfort zone, I also just love being out and about in general.
At first I really wanted to see the Keith Haring exhibition as I've always loved his work and the messages behind what he creates, however the entry for it was £10 and the exhibition room didn't look so big so it didn't feel worth it. We went to the rest of the gallery floors that were free, all floors had some really fun, diverse pieces of art in them which was nice to see. I particularly liked seeing the work of Eduardo Paolozzi as I've studied him in the past as I love his abstract work.

| I loved the abstract, boldness of this piece. I love using bright, block colours in my work too. |

Whilst we were in Liverpool, I visited the Barbie shop as it's relevant research towards my Bratz lookbook brief for extended practice. Back in the day, Barbie was the biggest competition against Bratz. In the end, Bratz made a larger impact and 'won' the battle as Bratz were shown to be more interesting and have more personality to them (which I 100% agree with)- Bratz are more stylish ('the girls with the passion for fashion', edgy, more attitude and are culturally diverse dolls which Barbie hugely lacks in.
However, I did really enjoy visiting the Barbie shop as it was so interesting and over the top, I'd describe is as a young girly girls' definition of heaven. I will use this research for my Bratz brief when making certain designs and areas look over the top.
