Re-Contacting Robot Food

Since I will be continuing with my graphic design internship with Cohorted alongside uni once a week, it would count as my 2 weeks of placement for Extended Practice. However, I still want to take this opportunity to contact other studios that I would enjoy working for, the more experience the better.

Initially, my placement with Cohorted was supposed to be just for the summer, but they wanted me to stay on and offered me the chance to work full time for them after graduating which I was chuffed about. (See PPP blog posts tagged 'Cohorted')

Since I was looking for summer placements last year, I contacted a bunch of studios that I was intrigued by, most of them either didn't respond or weren't taking on more designers. However, the studio Robot Food mentioned that they usually take on third year students for work experience...and since i'm third year now, I thought it would definitely be worth contacting them and seeing if they had any spaces for work placement in the new year, also because I still love their work.

Response to my initial email by Stephanie at Robot Food

New email I sent this afternoon:

Hi Stephanie,

I contacted you last spring when you were recommended to me by John Watters after I mentioned that my areas of interest within Graphic Design included branding, contemporary design, illustration and design for print. I instantly loved the work Robot Food created, particularly the work for Mr Kipling, Co-Op Baby and Gourmade, the vibrancy and playful imagery used in these projects really intrigued me.

You mentioned that you usually save work experience spots for third year students as you can offer more support for them moving into industry. As I'm in third year now and still a big fan of Robot Food, I wondered if you had any spots free for some work experience in the new year?

Here's a link to my portfolio with some recents projects I've worked on throughout the past year: https://laveezaz.myportfolio.com/

I look forward to hearing from you,
Laveeza
