Notes:
- Credits at the bottom of website if you collaborated with someone on the project
- Research into how Pentagram talk about their work
- Quotes should be kept short and sharp
- Websites can go into a lot of depth and process of the project but portfolio doesn't need to be as detailed as this
- Rita Matos portfolio- on the drive. When talking about a project she opens up with a couple sentences, intro into who the client is and what they wanted and then straight into the visuals
- Use Grammarly or Hemingway to go over stuff if needed OR always get someone to proof read before adding stuff to website and portfolio
Write a copy for an existing or on going project:
Method 1: Intro, design challenges, design solutions
Method 2: What is the project? How does it work? Why does it work?
Method 3: Context, client expectations, design process, challenges, measures of success
I decided to go with Method 2 as it is open, the project that I decided to write about for the task is the project I recently finished which was a collaboration with a textiles student: The Panda Project. This project was based off personal interest of mine and love for pandas.
Copy for The Panda Project:
The Panda Project is an organisation that aims to raise awareness and protect the giant panda, pandas are precious creatures that have been a part of the animal kingdom for millions of years and therefore must be protected. In September 2016 the International Union Conservation of Nature announced that pandas have been upgraded from “endangered” to “vulnerable”, this is definitely a step in the right direction, but there is still a long way to go to secure the safety of pandas in the long term.
Slogan: together we can provide a positive future for the giant panda
How does it work?
The Panda Project aims to raise awareness for the wellbeing and current vulnerability of the giant panda which comes from personal interest in pandas as well as the importance that animals have on the environment and the way it functions. It allows the user to order their own panda pack through the website which consists of a t-shirt, publication and stickers for just £15.
Why does it work?
The Panda Project communicates a positive future for the giant pandas through the vibrant and bold aesthetic used throughout the which is inviting and engaging, the facts and statistics relating to panda vulnerability also help to grow an audience. The proceeds raised for this organisation would go towards The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding and WWF panda protection.

This project was an external collaboration with printed textiles student Emma Shakeshaft in which her role was to create patterns that were used throughout the branding.
