Final Nets and Paper Stock

I have now put the packaging designs into nets so that they are ready for printing this week. I had to change my print slot to Thursday as the COP pre-submission briefing is today at 1pm, the same time that my print slot was supposed to be. This was inconvenient and annoying as the pre-submission briefing wasn't even on the calendar at the time when I booked the slot but luckily I've managed to swap it. I will be printing the final nets with the booklet which will be double-sided.

For the nets I have stuck with the dimensions (length and width) as the test mockups that I did last week as the size of them physically was perfect and quite accurate to the actual MDH Spice packaging boxes. The size of the front and back is 14cm length and 10cm width. The sides are 14cm length and the width is 4.5cm.

Whilst I was in digital print to change my slot, I also decided what paper stock to use when I print the packaging and booklet. I've decided to print the booklet onto Olin regular in 120gsm as I liked the smooth, thin and able to be double sided printed. The smoothness makes it easy to flick through, this is relevant as the steps in the booklet are also simple and clear.

I decided to do the packaging in Olin regular 300gsm also because it's smooth but it's also durable as it’s thick. I used this paper stock for packaging in the last year and it worked well.

I was concerned that the black ink on the making might crack when I fold the paper so I asked James in digital print what I can do to avoid this, he said the best option would be to laminate it afterwards. I asked if the paper would still be foldable after laminating and he said it would be which is convenient.
