Group Crit

I found today's group crit useful and it was also nice to see other people's work and share ideas. During the group crit I showed the finished designs for the Ctrl album redesign, however I think showing a different project may have been more useful as I had finalised the designs and it was originally only supposed to be a one week passion projects as I haven't done many shorter projects this year.

Overall people liked the designs and how I related the concept of the album to the designs, which helped towards the success of the final outcomes.

Notes from crit:

• Composition is nice
• Make the gradient line thicker on the CD
• Like the idea of creating a CD insert if I decide to extend the brief further
• Be a bit more playful with the CD label, make it more like the cover, give it the same type treatment? needs more of the same contemporary feel as the cover
• Really like the developed layout of the tracklist on the back

Most of the feedback was good, however it was mentioned that I could develop the CD label through using more of the playful lines instead of the straight lines and shapes, however the contrast between the straight and wavy lines relates to the concept of losing control and having control.
